This class is designed for adults (18+) and is not a youth or family session.
A JScott Group Outdoors program, delivered in partnership with A Shower On Us
Program Overview
The Edible Wild Plants & Forage program introduces participants to common, safe-to-identify edible plants found in local environments.
This beginner-friendly class focuses on awareness, safety, and respect for nature — not survival training. Participants will learn how to recognize edible plants, understand basic foraging principles, and build confidence spending time outdoors.
Training takes place in accessible outdoor spaces, such as local parks and community green areas, making the experience welcoming and approachable for beginners.
Hands-On Foraging & Field Experience
Participants will take what they learned during the preparation session into the field for a guided, hands-on experience focused on identifying and understanding edible wild plants in their natural environment.
The outdoor experience will include:
-
Guided plant identification and observation
-
Safe and responsible foraging practices
-
Hands-on exploration of plants found in the area
-
Opportunities to ask questions and build confidence identifying plants outdoors
Whether you're interested in foraging, edible wild plants, outdoor learning, or simply becoming more confident in nature, this two-day event provides practical skills, foundational knowledge, and hands-on experience to help you begin your journey.
