How the Class Is Structured
This class is delivered in two parts to give participants time to learn, prepare, and feel confident before the outdoor session.
Part 1: Virtual Preparation Session (Zoom)
-
Participants will receive a slideshow presentation prepared by the instructor prior to the Zoom meeting.
-
The Zoom session will focus on:
-
Plant identification fundamentals
-
Safety considerations
-
Foraging principles and ethics
-
-
This virtual session allows everyone to start the outdoor portion with a shared foundation.
-
This ensures the in-person time is focused on hands-on learning rather than basic instruction.
Part 2: In-Person Two- Day Outdoor Experience
-
The in-person portion will focus on hands-on plant identification and foraging in a natural setting.
-
Participants will apply what they learned during the Zoom session in a guided, outdoor environment.
Zoom details and access instructions will be emailed to registered participants.
